Talented Musicians to Perform

Marshall County music fans are in for a treat when the Wesleyan Chapel, located at 1799 South Berlin Road, hosts an afternoon of worship music on Sunday, June 14, at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. The program is entitled Make a Joyful Noise and will feature vocal and instrumental performances by Jan MacKrell, the Chapel’s pianist, and her very talented daughters, who all play stringed instruments and have performed on stage with Charlie Daniels, David Archuleta, Orla Fallon, Lee Greenwood, Vince Gill, and Michael W. Smith to name a few. The sisters have performed together and solo at many venues and currently lead the music worship at World Outreach Church. Also performing with be Michael Smotherman, vocal soloist; Shelby Martin; Terry Jackson, a local favorite; and Josh Edlin, who is known to play almost any instrument and also operate a sound system. The community is invited to this free concert. You will be welcomed by Pastor Bradley Martin and other members of the congregation. Ice cream and cookies will follow the performance.

Alaina Herron receives the Dean Delk Academic Award

CHES would like to congratulate third grade student, Alaina Herron for receiving the Dean Delk Academic Award for the 2025-2026 school year. Alaina has demonstrated exceptional commitment to her studies, maintaining straight A’s throughout the academic year. Third grade introduces a significant shift in rigor, yet Alaina has met every challenge with a tireless work ethic.

VFW Post 5109 announces first annual “Vet Fest 2026”

VFW Post 5109 proudly announces the launch of its first annual VET FEST 2026, a patriotic community celebration honoring veterans, military families, and the citizens who support them. The event will take place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at VFW Post 5109 located at 148 E. Church Street in Lewisburg, Tennessee.
