Anniversary of the Stars and Stripes-June 14

On June 14, the United States will celebrate the 248th anniversary of the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official United States flag in 1777. Everyone is invited to join the Robert Lewis Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in celebrating this anniversary on Sunday, June 14 at the Abner Houston Log Cabin on the Cornersville Highway. The Lewisburg Police Color Guard will raise the flag at 2:00 P.M. to begin the ceremony. The ceremony will conclude with Taps, presented by Isaac Brown, Forrest High School Band of Blue.

Warf received award SRO of the Year

Wendy Brayman, who serves as the President of the Tennessee Association of School Resource Officers is pictured with Robert Warf who received School Resource Officer of the Year. Warf is a SRO officer at Lewisburg Middle School and employed with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.

Groundbreaking ceremony for 911 center

On June 3, 2026, the groundbreaking of the new Marshall County Emergency Communications District (911) Communications Center was celebrated.
New Lake Youth Fishing Event

Saturday, June 6 was Free Fishing Day, and the New Lake Fishing Event sponsored by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency gave many people a great reason to go outdoors. Saturday provided perfect weather for casting a line, and anglers of all ages enjoyed spending the day on the water. Several participants took advantage of the opportunity to fish without a license and enjoyed the community event at New Lake. The day was filled with fun and appreciation for Tennessee’s outdoor traditions.
Cole Drury receives Becky Delk Award

During an awards assembly CHES librarian, Jennifer Lynch, presented third grade student, Cole Drury with the Becky Delk award. This award is in honor of Becky Delk, longtime educator and librarian with 41 years of service. She retired from CHES in 2009. This award is given to the student who has earned the most Accelerated Reader points for the school year. Cole earned a total of 222.7 points with a 92% average. Congratulations, Cole!
