Semi overturns in Petersburg
B elfast Volunteer Fire Department, Station 53, and Marshall County OEM were dispatched to the area of 129 and Railroad Street in Petersburg on Thursday, March 19, at8:i7a.m. Asemi-truck, hauling empty chicken crates, overturned off the roadway. The accident resulted in the driver having minor injuries.

School Board candidate removed from primary ballot
T o qualify as a candidate for the office of School Board, a petition signed by at least 25 registered voters, within the same district as the candidate, is required.
Arrests made after stolen property found
M ore than $21,000 in stolen goods have been recovered by the Chapel Hill Police Department and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office. This is a result of an investigation where items were located on a property on Highway 99 in an old block building. These items were traced back to an owner who confirmed the property had been stolen from his building and land at 1300 Finley Road. There was also damage to the building on Finley Road due to the doors being kicked in - an estimated total of damages is $1,509.
