On March 3, 2026, Kenneth Walker was presented a Quilt of Valor for his service in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971. The presentation took place at The Quilting Squares Quilt Shop, located at 1276 Lewisburg Pike in Franklin. The quilt was made by the Scrappy Chicks of Columbia, Tenn. who also hosted the presentation.

F ayetteville’s newest newborn and children’s clothing store — held its grand opening in January where owners and sisters-in-law Baleigh Smith and Daisy Smith transformed the 817 Mulberry Avenue building into a “sweet, stylist boutique.” Located minutes from the downtown square in Fayetteville, Sawyer & Lane Co. carries thoughtfully selected clothing from newborns to big kids’ size 12, accessories, gifts and more.

C ongratulations to Khloe Quinn, a Marshall County High School sophomore, for being only one of thirty students selected for the Summer Health Care Experience (SHE) Program at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. Khloe is currently a health science program of study student at Spot Lowe Technology Center. “I am so proud of Khloe’s hard work and dedication in being accepted into the She Oncology Program at Vanderbilt,” stated health science teacher Mrs. Lynda Skillington. “Her commitment and perseverance truly paid off, and this accomplishment reflects the effort she consistently puts into her goals.”
