‘Mrs. Gilbert Shining Star Award’

O ak Grove Elementary announces their recipients of the “Mrs. Gilbert Shining Star Award” for the 2025-2026 school year. This award is given in honor and memory of Mrs. Shawn Gilbert, 1st grade teacher. Mrs. Gilbert was a “Shining Star” to those whose lives she touched. She was a shining example of living a life filled with love, joy, and service to others. These students were chosen for exhibiting those same qualities. Congratulations to these wonderful students.

Spot Lowe Students Demonstrate Technical Excellence at SkillsU SA State Conference

F ifteen students representing the Spot Lowe Technology Center distinguished themselves at the SkillsUSA Tennessee State Leadership and Skills Conference held March 15-18. Joining a field of over 1,800 peers at the Chattanooga Convention Center, the Marshall County delegation competed in 13 specialized categories, securing medals in seven of them.

O n Saturday, March 28, starting at 4:00 p.m., there will be a fundraiser to support Emmy Bruce who is battling breast cancer. BBQ plates $15, Kids’ plates $8. Easter Bunny photos can be taken and there will be a Silent and Dessert Auction. This fundraiser will take place at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 304 N Main Street in Chapel Hill.
