Cornersville gets win over Santa Fe 14-1

C ornersville baseball is in full swing as we leave the winter behind and enter spring sports. Thursday, March 5, was a beautiful spring day and perfect weather for the Bulldogs of Cornersville to travel to Santa Fe to face the Wildcats on their baseball field. The amazing sunset was a perfect backdrop as the game started. The Bulldogs began at bat and made the first attack as Ayden Campbell got a hit to advance Colyn Schillig to 3rd base where he would steal home on a passed ball pitch to put up the first score for the Bulldogs. Santa Fe answered in the bottom of the 1st with a score of their own, but it would be the last score the Bulldogs would allow in the game. Ayden Campbell was pitching and sat batter after batter down, with the help of the Bulldog field. Unfortunately, Braylon Sampson was injured in a fielding attempt early in the 1st inning, but the Dawgs covered his spot well and went on to secure a 14-1 victory over the Wildcats.
