H&S Pharmacy Suspects Apprehended
Chapel Hill, Tenn. – H&S Pharmacy, located on Nashville Highway in Chapel Hill, had two early morning break-ins that occurred in July & December of 2024. During the first incident, suspects shattered the glass front door to gain entry. Security footage captured two individuals focusing on medication behind the counter before fleeing the scene in a four door sedan. In the second burglary took place in December. Three suspects gained entry using the same method but only one bottle of medication was stolen before the subjects fled in a white Dodge Durango. The Chapel Hill Police Department worked diligently and gathered information for other jurisdictions that had similar burglaries in Tennessee including McMinnville, Winchester, Adamsville, Columbia, White Bluff & Kingston Springs. Information gathered from these agencies showed numerous similarities including similar clothing, vehicles and break-in methods. Chapel Hill Police Department reached out to an analyst with the FBI who was able to use the data to help develop potential suspects. Chapel Hill then reached out to officials with the DEA and discovered that similar burglaries were being investigated by agents in Mississippi and shared the suspect information. The DEA was able to identify the suspects were involved in a multi-state crime spree targeting pharmacies in Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee.
In a federal criminal complaint filed in April, Xavier Jennings and Kendrell Cross are identified as at least two of the suspects involved in pharmacy burglaries in Petal and Wiggins, Mississippi and Chapel Hill, TN, according to DEA Special Agent Keith Chappell. In addition, the investigation revealed the same two men are linked to a theft of two Dodge Durango Hellcat vehicles from Kim’s No Bull Car Lot in Laurel, MS. The incident led to a high-speed chase in which one of the drivers slammed into a deputy’s car, then drove off. The suspects abandoned the two stolen vehicles in a wooded area and authorities arrested Cross after spotting him walking down the road. At the time of his arrest in Mississippi, Cross was already out on bond for prior burglary charges in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
On April 03, 2025 Chapel Hill Police Department Detective Jason Hughes traveled to Tuscaloosa Alabama with DEA Agent Chappell for the arrest of Xavier Bernard Jennings. Jennings was wanted on the criminal complaint from Agent Chappell in reference to approximately 20 pharmacy burglaries agents could tie him to, as well as various motor vehicle thefts. Upon taking Jennings into custody, the odor of marijuana was emanating from his person, as well as from the apartment from which Jennings was residing at. The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant for the premises. Upon executing a search warrant, bulk marijuana, multiple firearms, a face mask consistent with the mask worn during burglaries, gloves consistent with gloves worn during the burglaries, a window punch, and a motor vehicle scan tool capable of programming new key fobs the vehicles were recovered as well as other items of evidentiary value. Detective Hughes was able to identify clothing worn in the Chapel Hill burglaries present in the apartment. During the time of his arrest Jennings was also out on bond for unrelated theft and burglary charges in Huntsville, Alabama. Both men remain in custody pending further proceedings. The multi-state investigation continues, and additional charges are expected as authorities investigate related burglaries across several southern states.
