Mr. Doug Cooper, Jr., 66, of the Laws Hill community, died Saturday, March 28, 2026. Born in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Doug was a son of the late Douglas Leamon Cooper, Sr. and Barbara Rietema Cooper. In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Leamon Cooper, III and a sister, Dana Cooper Norwood.

He retired from Cosmo Lab as an electrician and attended Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. Doug loved fishing and above everything else he loved watching his nieces and nephews playing and calling them by his favorite nicknames. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him and loved him.

He is survived by his brother, Dean (Regina) Cooper; sister, Dawn (Dale) Lovins; step-daughter, Glenda (Matt) Blount Hargrove; granddaughter, Shyann Cooper Ellnor.

Visitation took place Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Lawrence Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. and the funeral service followed at 5 p.m.
