WORKFORCE WEDNESDAY

Marshall County High School hosted a “Workforce Wednesday” on October 4th in the cafeteria.  Carrier Corporation and the Lewisburg Fire Department participated and interacted with students while sharing career opportunities available.

Coordinated by Industry Liaison Beth Stockwell and MCHS guidance counselors Jeannie Wiles and Blair Goodman, the event will be held each month with local industries, businesses, public agencies, and military branches taking part.

Kathy Roeder, Sr. Manager Human Resources, Lezlie Pettit, Manager, Customer Services, and Andi Robinson an intern at Carrier and MCHS graduate spoke with students about careers in human resources, warehouse positions, and customer service positions available at the company.  They also sponsored a “Resume Battle” and asked students to submit a resume for one of the positions. Three winners were chosen and received a box of goodies. The winners were Braydon Church, Abigail Haley, and James Hazeltine.

Jeremy Spray, Assistant Public Education Officer and Steven Dalton, Lt. EMS showed students a variety of equipment used by the Lewisburg Fire Department and shared about careers in emergency services with the fire department.
