Waste Management Automated Collection

Posted on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 9:00 am

Waste Management, Inc. is transitioning to automated cart collection which is cleaner, more efficient for the community, and safer for the driver.

Starting Jan. 2, 2024, Waste Management will begin using automated collection on all routes. All material must be placed inside the Waste Management cart. The cart with the yellow lid is for recycling materials and the cart with the green lid is for trash. No recycling or trash will be collected if placed outside the cart.

Place the cart at least 3 feet apart and 3 feet away from trees, cars, mailboxes, or other carts. This will allow the automatic arm to lift and empty the carts. Also, place wheels of cart toward the house.

In the recycling cart, with the yellow lid, break down cardboard and DO NOT bag recyclables. Place all items into the cart. Materials outside or on top of the cart will not be collected. Any type of glass will not be accepted.

In the trash cart, with the green lid, bag and tie all trash and place all bags in the cart with the lid securely closed. Material outside or top of the cart will not be collected.

Have the cart(s) at the curb the night before or no later than 6 a.m. on the day of collection.

Additional carts are available to rent. Contact the City of Lewisburg for more information at 931-359-1544.
