WOODBURY — Christa Warren went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer to lead the Forrest Lady Rockets (7-4, 3-0) past Cannon County in a dominant 12-0 win on Monday night.
Forrest hammered Cannon County for 18 hits and joining Warren with a three-hit game was Taylor Moreland, who also took the win in the pitcher’s circle.
She went the distance for Forrest and gave up just three hits and a walk while striking out 11 batters.
Forrest grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a Briley Burnhan RBI single.
That lead ballooned in the second inning as the Lady Rockets pushed five runs across the plate.
Abby Ferguson made it an 8-0 Lady Rocket lead in the third with a two RBI double to right.
Forrest went on to add one more run in the sixth and closed the game with a three-spot in the seventh.
Forrest went on the road on Wednesday to face Friendship Christian in a non-district game before returning to the Field of Dreams on Thursday to host Community for a 5:30 p.m. first pitch.
