Explore Vintage Postcards of Marshall County | Thursday, August 1
Marshall Medical Center’s Senior Life Solutions program is hosting a blast-from-the-past event on Thursday, August 1, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. for the community to explore vintage postcards dating back 100+ years. Reservations are not required, and the collection can be viewed at your leisure. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about the history of each card, and mental health services for older adults provided at Marshall Medical Center.
This collection dates back to 1912 and includes both real photographic postcards and colorized linen postcards. These pieces of history are all from Lewisburg and Marshall County and feature landmarks and organizations such as the Marshall County Courthouse, Tennessee Walking Horse Breeder Association, Marshall Hotel, Stillwell Hotel and more. This event helps bring awareness to the mental health services that are available for our senior citizens in the Lewisburg and Marshall County communities.
Todd Fehrman, program therapist at Senior Life Solutions, will be present to answer any questions about the historic display (which he acquired and assembled) and about the mental health services for older adults provided at Marshall Medical Center. Senior Life Solutions uses group therapy, individual therapy, and psychiatric care to meet the needs of seniors experiencing depression, anxiety or other mental health challenges often associated with aging, such as the loss of a loved one, chronic health conditions, sadness, suicidal thoughts, low energy, feeling overwhelmed and stressed, and feelings of helplessness and hopelessness.
