LEWISBURG — After struggling to maintain Tullahoma’s efficient offense, led by Xavier Farrell, Marshall County dropped 31 points in the fourth quarter and cut the Wildcat lead to single digits in the final minute, but was unable to complete the comeback as the home team fell, 73-63.
While the first quarter was an equally-fought effort by both teams that saw Tullahoma end with a 14-13 lead, offense became a struggle in the middle quarters for the Tigers.
Tullahoma continued to pile on the points into the second period, but the Tigers managed just three field goals in the second.
Making matters worse, Marshall County was effective in getting to the line, but made just 2-of-8 tries from the line in the second.
Farrell continued his career night into the third quarter and scored 11 more points, but Marshall County wasn’t without its heavy hitter in the district tilt.
Jabrae Howard led the Tigers with a team-high 31 points and scored 13 points in the fourth quarter.
Farrell finished with a game high 43 points.
In addition to Howard’s 31 points, Jayce Harney added 11 and Jamahl Gentry chipped in 10.
