LEWISBURG — The Marshall County Tigerettes had a tough time solving Giles County starting pitcher Gracie Pickett on Monday night.
Pickett kept the Tigerette bats quiet and the Lady Bobcat offense connected on four extra base hits as Giles County took the 12-1 win over Marshall County.
Giles County scored its first run in the top of the second and piled on two more in the third.
A four-run third inning gave the Lady Bobcats a 7-0 cushion and Giles County closed the game with two more in the sixth and three in the seventh to close out the game.
While hits were few for the Tigerettes, a leadoff walk in the bottom of the seventh set up Marshall County’s lone run of the game.
Following Lynch drawing a walk, she moved to second on a base hit to left by Abby Leverette.
A Giles County error allowed Lynch to score, but in the next at-bat, Giles County turned a rare triple play to end the rally effort by Marshall County.
Lynch pitched four innings and gave up two earned runs on six this before Brookelyn Nunley took over and pitched the final three innings for the hosts.
