LAWRENCEBURG — There was certainly no shortage of offense between Marshall County and Lawrence County on Tuesday night.
The two teams combined for 27 hits but in the end, the hosts were able to walk off against the Tigerettes and take the 14-13 win.
Although Marshall County grabbed the early lead in the top of the first, Lawrence County seemingly grabbed total control of the game by answering with five runs in the bottom of the inning.
Following a scoreless second, Marshall County responded with a monster third inning, highlighted by a RBI single from Anna Stewart.
Marshall County then scored a third run of the game on an error before courtesy runner Riya Bird scored on a passed ball.
Marshall County then took a 7-5 lead after two-straight sac-fly balls.
The momentum was short-lived as the see-saw affair continued in the bottom of the fourth with Lawrence County plating seven more runs to take a 12-7 lead.
Marshall County answered right back with a second six-run inning to snatch the lead back at 13-12.
The Lady Wildcats eventually tied the game in the fifth before connecting on the walk-off in the seventh.
Zakiyah Taylor led the Tigerettes at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three RBIs, while Colby Cole and Madison Mason each doubled.
Abby Leverette pitched three innings and gave up 11 runs on 11 hits before Brooklyn Nunely worked the final 3 1/3 innings in relief, allowing three runs on five hits.
