LEWISBURG — On a dominant senior night performance, quarterback Tyler Thompson etched his name into the Marshall County record books, becoming the all-time touchdown leader, breaking Silas Teat’s record of 59 touchdown with his 60th of his career.
Thompson completed 21-of-24 attempts for 288 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead the Tigers to the 61-13 victory.
Simply put, Spring Hill had no answer for the Tiger offense that has now 213-13 over the past four games.
Marshall County jumped out to a 21-7 lead by the end of the first and tacked on 26 more in the second to lead 47-7 at the half.
A 14-6 run through the third quarter put a bow on a fourth-straight Tiger victory.
Marshall County got plenty of production in the ground game as well, with Tot Gardner scoring three touchdowns on the ground and going 50 yards on nine carries.
Aiden Bryant added 86 yards on 12 touches and a pair of scores as well.
Kel Hightower was Thompson’s top target, hauling in eight catches for a staggering 161 yards and a touchdown.
Kaiden Harris was the beneficiary of three catches for 34 yards and a score.
The Tigers can officially cap a perfect region record on Thursday night when Marshall County hosts Creek Wood at Preston Hopkins Field.
