Thomas Wert Talley Jr., 84, passed away peacefully August 20, 2023, in Aledo, Illinois. He was a born in Marshall County, Tennessee, and grew up attending elementary school in Petersburg, Tennessee. He worked as a carpenter, built homes in the Peoria, Illinois area, and retired from Caterpillar.
He is survived by four sons: Thomas David Talley of Hudson, Illinois; Erik Allen Talley of Saudi Arabia; Jason Hamilton Talley of East Peoria, Illinois; Jeremiah Lee Talley of Lexington, Kentucky. He is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Sue Ropp of Tremont, Illinois and Jessie Lynn Wiser of Youngtown, Arizona; and five grandchildren, Benjamin Talley, Montana Talley of Hudson, Illinois and Isabella Talley, Mayson Talley, and Brenna Talley of Columbus, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Wert and Nancy Woods Talley and a sister, Mary Jo Dixon.
Graveside service will be on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Talley Cemetery in Petersburg, Tennessee.
