Marshall County Veterans Service Office and Bills McGaugh-Hamilton Funeral Home to Host Seminar on Veterans Burial and Death Benefits
If you are a veteran, you may be eligible for veteran’s burial allowances if you are paying for the burial and funeral costs. There are certain stipulations so the Marshall County Veterans Service Office is inviting local Veterans and their spouses to attend this important seminar.
The seminar will be held at Lewisburg VFW Post 5109 located at 148 E. Church St. on Thursday, Nov. 2. at 10:00 a.m. Topics include determining eligibility for allowances to help pay for burial and funeral costs, filing time limits, what documents are needed, and information for surviving spouses.
Veterans Service Officer Brandon Cannon will have information on burial allowances, survivors’ pension and DIC (dependency and indemnity compensation). There will also be information on headstone and grave marker allowance amounts.
Representatives from Bills McGaugh Hamilton will be on hand to discuss their role in assisting veterans and their family members during their time of need.
