Rocket ground game blasts Vikings

UNIONVILLE — It was all Forrest (2-1) all night in Unionville Friday, getting a monster 49-8 non-region win against the Community Vikings.
The Rockets (2-1) were full throttle from the get-go, scoring their first touchdown in less than two minutes into the game, courtesy of Liam Bell on a 12-yard run.
Gavin Grissom added the extra point to give Forrest the 7-0 lead.
After only four plays and as many downs for the Vikings, Rockets took possession at the Viking 35-yard line.
With 6:11 left in the first frame, sophomore Eli Bell picked up a touchdown, but the score was ultimately called back due to a Forrest penalty.

ater, quarterback Aiden Cantrell completed the 8-yard touchdown pass to Liam Bell and Grissom tacked on the extra point, to bump the Rocket lead to 14-0 lead with 4:41 still left in the first quarter.
After a Community fumble that was recovered by Forrest, the Rockets had possession on their own 15-yard line.
On second down, Eli Bell took off on a 58-yard trek, finally settling on the Viking 21-yard line.

holding a firm lead of 21-0 with just over a minute to play in the first.
Community was unable to cover any ground on the next drive, the Rockets taking possession at the Viking five yard line. With 20 seconds left, Grissom crossed the goal line and added his own extra point, the Rockets with a 28-0 lead.
Things did not look up for Community in the second quarter.
On the Rockets first possession of the quarter, the “Bell boys” worked the ball from the Viking 31-yard line, Liam Bell ultimately darting into the end zone from the two.
Grissom split the uprights yet again, and the Rockets led 35-0 with 9:04 left in the half.
Four minutes later, Fletcher Fields punched in another touchdown for the Rockets from nine yards out and after Grissom’s extra point, the Rockets led 42-0.
Fifteen seconds into the fourth quarter, Issac Jacobs sprinted for the 14-yard touchdown, putting the Vikings on the board.
Nyles Barnet found Jacobs to complete the 2-point conversion, yet Forrest still held a commanding 42-8.
On the next drive for Forrest, Jason Patrick went on a 29-yard run to land the Rockets back in Viking territory.
With 9:13 left to play, it was Jacob Tincher’s turn, finding the end zone after a 28-yard sprint. Grissom sealed the deal, and the Rockets were up 49-8, the score remaining as the final.
Eli Bell led the Rockets with 101 total yards on the evening.
Forrest is set to take on Cannon County Friday night in their first region matchup of the season
