Rebecca Franklin Stockman

Rebecca Franklin Stockman, 94, of Cornersville, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, Oct., 2024, at the Belvedere Commons in Franklin, Tenn. Becky was a member of the Cornersville United Methodist Church and Lewisburg First United Methodist Church where she was very active with the women’s group and choir. She attended Nashville Business College and worked for the Mary Farley Center.

‘Becky and Skippy were very loyal supporters of Cornersville High School Sports. Most often, they were found running the game clock and score board. Becky worked in the Marshall County Clerk’s Office for many years, prior to being elected as County Clerk. She served as County Clerk for many years. Becky loved her flowers, her Dr. Pepper, her Rook Club, going out to dinner with her friends on Friday nights, and she was a wonderful cook. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved her family dearly and was known for keeping them on their toes.

Becky was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Richard E. “Skippy” Stockman, Sr.; parents, Floyd and Gladys Porter Franklin; son, Richard E. “Ricky” Stockman, Jr.; sister, Grace Franklin Smith (Jack); brothers, William “Bill” Franklin and Phillip Franklin (Mary Todd).

Becky is survived by her daughters, Reta Adams (Steve) of Franklin, Tenn. and Robin Stockman of Columbia, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Murl Franklin of Prattville, Ala.; grandchildren, Brad Douglas Adams, Jamie Adams Wales, Reanna Dawn Nicholson, Ryan Chandler Nicholson (Rian); great-grandchildren, Kayla Wales, Emma Umerlik, Jaxon Gonzalez, Rayleigh Tate, Layton Nicholson, Ryland Nicholson and Rynlee Nicholson; many beloved nieces, nephews, & extended family and friends.

The funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home. Burial followed in Beechwood Cemetery in Cornersville. Jack Franklin, Bill Franklin, John Baker, Brad Adams, Ryan Nicholson, Mike Franklin and Monty Franklin served as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearers are all former and current employees of the Marshall County Clerk’s Office.
Memorials may be made in Becky’s memory to Cornersville United Methodist Church and or Lewisburg First United Methodist Church. Visitation was held from 3 until 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home.
