Junior’s House Inc. Child Advocacy Center employees, the City of Lewisburg, Marshall County Government, and community advocates gathered for the annual pinwheel planting event at the Lewisburg Police Department. Pinwheels are a national symbol for child abuse prevention.

Last year, the staff at Junior’s House served 600 child abuse victims and conducted 199 forensic interviews. They provided 355 hours of therapy and taught body safety training to more than 3,000 students.

Their mission is to provide services for child abuse victims and their families in a centralized, child-friendly location and provide child abuse awareness and prevention programs.

Junior’s House serves the 17th Judicial District, which includes Lincoln, Bedford, Marshall, and Moore counties. Families are never charged a fee for services.

Junior’s House is not only a Children’s Advocacy Center, but it also provides CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates. These community-trained volunteers serve as a friend of the court, and they advocate for the child (ren) to assist them in finding safe and timely permanency.

The Lewisburg Recreation Center held close to 200 people on Thursday, April 10 for their annual fundraiser. Stewart County General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge, G. Andrew Brigham, Sr. was the keynote speaker for the luncheon.
