Peggy Jo Hill Robinson, 81, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, passed from this life on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at her home under the loving care of her family and Hospice Compassus.
A native of Bedford County, Peggy Jo was born to the late James Woodward Hill and Christine Pinkston Burns Hill in Shelbyville, on September 29, 1943. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Steve Fletcher.
Survivors include her loving husband of 39 years, Dannie H. Robinson; children, Renee (Tom) Delbridge and Clint Fletcher; grandchildren, Courtney (Drew) Clardy and family, Ashley (Daniel) Rowland and family, Natalie Fletcher, and Ashley (Ali Roshankish) Delbridge.
Peggy grew up in Bell Buckle and moved to Shelbyville around age 10 where she lived the remainder of her life. She graduated from Shelbyville Central High School in 1961 and worked with her mother at Southern Collar Company while her children were in school. She never missed a ballgame or school event and was always the biggest cheerleader for her children. Later, she worked in administration as a Data Control Supervisor at ICP in Lewisburg until she retired in 2006. She also worked part-time at Jostens, Walking Horse Report, and served as Chairman of Bedford County Emergency Service.
She was a woman of strong faith and attended World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro for several years. When traveling became an obstacle, she continued to watch services from home every Sunday morning and Wednesday night.
She met the love of her life, Dannie, while working at ICP, and they married on December 26, 1985. For many years, they enjoyed attending the Walking Horse Celebration and other horse shows across Middle TN. They also spent many hours at softball, soccer, basketball, and football games; watching their grandchildren and great grandchildren play ball. Her greatest pleasures in life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Tommie Lamb officiating. Burial followed at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
