Posted on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 11:00 am

Hundreds of parents and students attended the Spring Showcase at Marshall Elementary School on March 5th to learn more about the Tennessee’s Pathways to Promotion for 3rd and 4th graders and also visit related arts classrooms.

Tammy Lewis, Supervisor of Elementary Education discussed the promotion law which is based on ELA TCAP scores and any additional tutoring that may be required.

MES’s related arts programs were highlighted and included student artwork, the coding program, music program, and the Lu Interactive Playground in the gymnasium. Those attending could also visit with the school counselor and view the new books in the library that were bought with funds raised from the school’s book fair.

“It was great to see all the families come out together for this family engagement event.  Having parents see what else their child participates in at MES, other than our usual core classes, was great,” stated Principal Nicky Randolph, “I had a parent tell me it was the best event we’ve ever had.”

A complimentary dinner was served to all who attended and MES staff were on hand to assist with the event.
