Marshall County Schools welcomes new teachers 2024-2025

Posted on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 10:00 am

In preparing for the new school year, the Marshall County School System held three days of orientation and induction at Central Office and at their home schools, for its 32 newest teachers.

“We’ve got a great group of incoming teachers who will join our school staffs across the county,” said Director of Schools Jacob Sorrells. “I am confident they will share the enthusiasm that all of our teachers, staff, and administrators have for providing Marshall County students with a high-quality education.”

Monday, July 22, was spent doing paperwork and learning more about district policies and procedures. Tuesday, July 23 and Wednesday, July 24, the teachers spent time doing group work and meeting with their mentors.

The goal of the two-day induction was to help beginning teachers attain high and rigorous teaching standards; build a deep, rich understanding of the curriculum framework; foster effective classroom management practices; and make all new teachers aware of professional practices and expectations.

Thursday, August 1, is an abbreviated day and the first full day of school is Friday, August 2.  Additional information, including supply lists can be found on the district website at www.mcstn.net
