Marlene Hooks Hardison, 74, of Lewisburg, Tenn., passed away peacefully Friday, April 18, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Marlene was born October 31, 1950, in Livingston, Tenn., to the late Columbus and Eliza Allen Hooks.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Gary Edwin Hardison who passed in 2023, and a nephew, Derrick Webb.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Tankersley Reed (David) and her son, Vance Tankersley (Melissa) all of Lewisburg; three grandchildren, Spence Tankersley, Hunter Reed, and Adela Ortega; sister, Anna Webb (Henry) of Livingston, Tenn.; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; special family members, Juan and Sarah Ortega, Jerry and Betsy Petty, and the family of Gary Hardison.
Marlene was a member of Westvue Church of Christ. She was a Program Assistant for the Farm Service Agency of the Department of Agriculture. She served as the District Supervisor of the Marshall County Soil and Water District as well as serving as Treasurer of the Board. She was an avid UT Vols basketball fan and enjoyed playing golf. But most of all, she was a devoted Nanna and dearly loved her grandchildren and her family. She was so special to many friends and family and will be greatly missed.
The family expresses their deepest gratitude to their mother’s caregivers, Kim Allen and Holly Taylor, and to the staff at NHC Oakwood and Maury Regional Medical Center.
Visitation with the family was held at London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, Tennessee, on Monday, April 21, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. continued on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from noon until the funeral hour.
Funeral Service was conducted on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial following in Lone Oak Cemetery.
