LPD make arrests in several incidents

The Lewisburg Police Department has been busy the past several days regarding multiple incident calls as well as working with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) in a joint operation.

During Operation Blue Ghost, on February 7, the LPD and TBI partnered to conduct an investigation to see that those listed on the sex offender registry were in compliance with the rules and regulations they are required to abide by. Four individuals were non-complaint and taken into custody.

Also on February 7, at approximately 11:36 p.m., the Lewisburg Police Department was dispatched to 960 Washington Drive in regards to a shooting. Two individuals, Nathan Riddle, 21, and Jamie Thompson, 22,  were shot and both required medical attention. Riddle was air lifted to Vanderbilt, but has since been released and Thompson was transported to Marshall Medical Center. Christian Coburn-Webb, 23, was arrested and charged with attempted criminal homicide. A second suspect, Frankel Jones, age 20, is at large and will also be arrested with the same charge. This incident is still being investigated as to why the shooting occurred.

Stephen Macari was taken into custody on February 8 by the Lewisburg Police Department and authorities booked him into the Marion County Jail in Jasper without bond. Macari, 28, and Jeneal Whitmore, 41, are charged in the vehicle fire death of Keith Whitmore, Jeneal’s husband. This incident occurred on February 9, 2023, and the Marion County Grand Jury returned indictments on February 5, 2024, charging Macari and Jeneal Whitmore with one count each of first-degree murder. Keith and Jeneal lived in Lewisburg and Keith was an A-EMT with Maury Regional Medical Center. Jeneal was employed with the Marshall County EMS and originally from Marion County.

On Sunday, February 11 at approximately 5:37 p.m., the Lewisburg Police Department received a call regarding a stabbing at 204 2nd Ave North. This incident appears to be over a property dispute. The victim, Terry Ewing, 46, was stabbed multiple times and taken to Vanderbilt Hospital by ambulance. Medical helicopters were called but none were available in the area. Keith Mitchell, 35, was taken into custody and charged with attempted criminal homicide.
