Libby Herman: Local Cake Boss

Libby Herman is the face behind Libby’s Sugar Shop, a local home bakery in Lewisburg. She was recently selected to compete in Buddy Valastro’s, aka the Cake Boss, competition. She is currently working her way towards the final round in the “Greatest Baker” competition. One baker will take home the title of People’s Choice, the public voting portion. The winner will receive $10,000, share their work in Bake from Scratch magazine, and meet Buddy Valastro. There’s also a Critic’s Pick. Melissa Anaya, founder of Eat Drink AZ, will select one qualified baker to join her for a visit to her favorite bakery and appear in Bake from Scratch!
The competition started with over 45,000 people from all over the country. Libby made it through the top 20, top 15, top 10, and top 5 of her group. She advanced to the quarterfinals on Jan. 8 which goes until Thursday, Jan. 18 at 9 p.m. CST. She hopes to go onto semifinals and the finals for the big win! Voters can vote for free once every 24 hours online at www.greatestbaker.com/2023/libby-herman or by going to her Facebook page under Libby’s Sugar Shop to connect to the contest. You can also donate towards more votes and those proceeds will go to the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation to support pediatric cancer.
