CORNERSVILLE — It was total domination for the Cornersville Lady ‘Dawgs on Thursday night at home, crushing Santa Fe 10-1.
The Wildcats struck the first blow, but it was Cornersville who had the last laugh, out-hitting the visitors 15-1 in the blowout.
Every player for Cornersville recorded at least one hit, with Abbi Storey, Emma Ward, Carmen Ward and Kate Lamon all recording two-hit nights.
Storey led the Lady ‘Dawgs, going 2-for-2 with a triple and three RBIs.
Santa Fe scored one in the top of the first on a solo homer, but after that, starting pitcher Jayli Childress settled in and kept the visitors scoreless.
Childress gave up one run on one hit, but struck out eight batters before Carmen Ward entered and pitched the final two innings in relief.
She struck out five and didn’t give up a hit.
