Kirby Wayne Bates, Jr., age 60, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Friday, February 2, 2024, at his residence.
He was born September 5, 1963, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to Mr. Kirby (Dot) Bates, Sr. of Shelbyville and Ms. Virginia Bell Jones Smits of Lewisburg. He was a Computer Technician and was associated with the Westvue Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Timothy and Barry Bates.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Kristy Luna of Lewisburg; two nieces, Kali Luna and Shelby Bates; two nephews, Zane Luna and Kaden Luna; and a lifelong friend, Dee Walker, who shared Kirby’s passion for guitar playing and music, that led to many hours of them “pickin’ and grinnin.”
Funeral services were conducted from the chapel of London Funeral Home on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. with burial following in Lone Oak Cemetery. Visitation with the family began Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and continued until the funeral hour. London Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to assist the family with the arrangements.
