Mr. John Douglas Harris, 60, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Monday, February 5, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee. John was born in Marshall County and was a retired butcher and a member of Old Lasea Church of Christ. Mr. Harris is preceded in death by his father, William Douglas Harris.
Mr. Harris is survived by his daughter, Rachel Harris (Chris) Jeter, Pleasant View, Tennessee; mother, Mary Moses Harris, Chapel Hill, Tennessee; sister, Kathy Harris (Bill) Garrett, Lewisburg, Tennessee; fiancé, Wendy Newsom, Chapel Hill, Tennessee.
Family members received friends on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Kenneth Bray officiating. Burial followed in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
Chris Jeter, Bill Garrett, Mike Corter, Bill Eddins, Tony Eddins, and Dee Walker served as pallbearers. Lawrence Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Chapel Hill was in charge of arrangements.
