Jean Cowser Looney, 91, of Lewisburg, Tenn., died Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Jean was born June 20, 1932, in Lewisburg, Tenn., to the late Howard and Docia Pigg Cowser. She was a member of Richland Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Cornersville High School. She was married to her husband, Hubreen, for 71 years and worked as a homemaker caring for their children. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and caring for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Cowser; daughter-in-law, Donna Looney and grandson, Matthew Looney.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Hubreen Looney; two daughters, Donna (Herbie) Park and Pam (John) Worsham both of Cornersville; son, Ricky Looney of Petersburg; sister, Judy (Pete) Edwards of Lewisburg; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held at Richland Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the charity of your choice.
