James Randal Darnell, 55, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, died Friday, January 17, 2025, at his residence.
He was born April 14, 1969, in Belfast, Tennessee, to the late Brenda Garrett Estes and Freddie Darnell who survives. He was employed by Dole Refrigeration as a welder and a member of the. He was an all-American patriot and a firearm enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs and appreciated quiet time and solitude.
He was preceded in death by his mother Brenda Garrett Estes, a brother, Chris Poarch and a sister, Michelle Garrett.
He is survived by his father, Freddie Darnell; his wife of 23 years, Gidget Darlin Darnell of Lewisburg; six sons, Christian (Samantha) Darnell of Lewisburg, Samuel Darnell of Florida, Eric Darlin, Tyler Odom, Clayton DeMoss, and Josh Inman all of Lewisburg; two daughters, Sonya Darnell of Lewisburg and Heather Rogers of Lewisburg; thirteen grandchildren.
Visitation with the family was held at London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, Tennessee, on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 1 until 3 p.m. The funeral service was conducted on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home and burial followed in Garrett Cemetery.
