James (Nub) Edward King, 88, of Lewisburg, Tenn., died Friday, June 28, 2024, at his residence.
He was born March 3, 1936, in Lewisburg, Tenn., to the late Willie Bob and Alva Mooningham King. He was a machine operator at Sanford prior to his retirement. He mowed lawns for many people across Marshall County and thoroughly enjoyed working. He also enjoyed gardening in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Michael King; two sisters, Hattie Mae Brown and Olene Dockery; two brothers, Thomas King and Carl Wayne King and a daughter-in-law, Tonya Watkins King.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Jett King; son Tommy King of Cornersville; daughters, Dianne (Kent) Krueger of Michigan and Marie Tomlin of Lewisburg; sister, Linda Faye (George) Burrow of Lewisburg; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Tracey Baker King of Lewisburg; sister-in-law, Elvonda Gipson King of Cornersville; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family was held at Cornersville Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m.
The funeral service was conducted on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home, 310 North Main St., Cornersville, Tenn., with burial following in New Hope Cemetery at Ostella.
