J. Frank Finley, 71, of Cedar Hill, Tennessee, passed away on October 16, 2023. He was born on January 13, 1952, in Lewisburg, Tennessee. Frank enjoyed a fulfilling life, engaging in various activities that brought him joy. He had a passion for farming, hunting, cooking, fishing, camping, riding horses, gardening, coaching ball, traveling, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Lucille Franklin Finley and his brother-in-law, Lyndell Davis of Cornersville, TN.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Finley, and their children: Kara Finley (Tommy Durham), Joe (Lindsay) Finley, Ann (Casey) Weaver, and Maria (Tim) van der Hengst. He is also survived by his sisters, Gayle (Bill) Headden, and Gradean Davis. Frank leaves behind a legacy in his grandchildren: Jasper, Devlin, Waylon (Jodi), and Maxie Owens, Lily and Logan Weaver, Addy and Brooks Finley, Zoey, Judson, Finley, and Remy van der Hengst, as well as his great-granddaughters, Jesse and Nellie Owens. He will be deeply missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Frank attended Cornersville High School and furthered his education at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Frank was a member of the Alpha Kappa Chapter of the AGR fraternity. He built a successful career in agricultural business, industrial development, and farming.
Visitation was held Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 4-8 p.m. at Springfield Funeral Home. A service to celebrate Frank’s life was held at the Cedar Hill Baptist Church Chapel on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial followed at Bellwood Cemetery in Adams, TN.
The details of the service are being coordinated by Springfield Memorial Gardens, Funeral Home, and Cremation Center in Springfield, Tennessee.
