HOPEtown’s “Dash Away Y’all” event provided Christmas assistance for close to 50 children at the first last minute event on Dec. 20. But they had enough inventory leftover to schedule a second round. The final last minute Christmas assistance took place Saturday morning, Dec 23, at the historic Morgan School in Petersburg.
Families with children ages 1-18 were eligible as long as they had not received assistance from other programs and this time there, were no residency restrictions at all. They had gifts for toddlers, preschoolers, elementary kids, and teens.
HOPEtown was able to help 266 children in just two hours in Petersburg, bringing the total number of children assisted this year to 702!
