Glenda McMahon Tate, 82, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, died Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at her residence.
She was born August 24, 1941, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to the late Horace Lee and Ruth Fox McMahon. She was a retired banker for thirty eight years with Peoples and Union Bank and two years with First Commerce Bank. She retired as Vice President and Comptroller and was a long time member of the Cornersville First Baptist Church where she served over 65 years as pianist and then organist. She loved to play golf and watch all of the Tennessee Volunteers sports.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Tate.
She is survived by a daughter, Jennie (Roger) Carroll of Lewisburg; brothers, Jody (Billie) McMahon of Cornersville and Jimmy (Tracy) McMahon of Lewisburg; two grandchildren, Morgan Carroll (Derek) Griggs and Grey Carroll; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, September 22, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. from the Cornersville First Baptist Church with burial following in Beechwood Cemetery.
Visitation with the family was held at the church Friday, September 22, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
