Jessica King Gilliam has been named the new Chamber of Commerce Director for Marshall County.
She is a native of Marshall County and the daughter of Tracy Haskins and Richard King. As a graduate of Cornersville High
School in 2008, she was an active athlete, involved in several sports including basketball, softball, and golf. Gilliam, a member of 4-H during her school years, remains active today in 4-H. She is an exhibitor at livestock shows and plans to show at the Tennessee State Fair this fall. She presently is establishing a herd of beef cattle, following in her family’s footsteps.
Gilliam graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a B.A. in Political Science and Communications in 2013.
Most of her working career, she has been employed as a tax manager, which is her present employment as well.
With an appreciation for historical buildings and houses, Gilliam purchased an English Tudor house on Haynes Street where she resides with her husband, Chris. Also residing with them, is a foreign exchange student from Milan, Italy and they plan to host more students in the future.
“Continuing the legacy that my family has built in Marshall County is the foremost plan in my life,” stated Gilliam after supporters of the Chamber noted she will be a valuable director to ensure the long-term viability of the Chamber.
Gilliam will be at the Chamber office 20 hours a week, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday. She is working with the Chamber Board to bring back monthly coffees, Chamber events, ribbon cuttings, and more. She can be reached at 931-359-3863 or office@marshallchamber.org
