Two years ago, the pastors of the Marshall County Ministerial Association (MCMA) hoped to have 300-400 in attendance at their inaugural Freedom Fest celebration at Rock Creek Park, a July 3 worship event that doubled as an Independence Day festival. Over 1,000 showed up, even though the fireworks were canceled because of unusually dry conditions.

Last year, they expected close to 2,000 and were thrilled when nearly 3,000 men, women, and children packed the park by the time a colossal 25-minute fireworks show filled the night sky.

Freedom Fest is back in 2024, and the MCMA is pleased to announce some exciting additions to the usual lineup of popular food trucks, face painters, inflatables, and fireworks.

Anna Pearson, a talented recording artist, will be leading a portion of the worship music before a local, multi-church band takes the stage.

Later in the evening, Gearz TV host Stacey David will speak about the Sgt. Rock vehicle (which will be on site) which he built as a tribute to the military men and women who protect our freedoms.

The MCMA is adding Fireworks Alley, a section of kids’ games and activities, which will be led by East Commerce Baptist Church and Farmington Baptist Church, in addition to their usual bouncy houses.

The night will feature an address on the year’s theme scripture (2 Chronicles 7:14) by MCMA President Frank Sullivan and a special message from representatives on behalf of the Marshall County Prevention Coalition.

Admission, parking, and all activities are free of charge (other than food trucks.) Food trucks and activities begin at 5 p.m. Worship commences shortly after 6 p.m. Fireworks launch at 9 p.m. All events are Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Rock Creek Park in Lewisburg.
