Frankie Carmack Capley, 85 of Smyrna, Tennessee, died Friday, March 14, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. He was a native of Lewisburg, Tennessee and a son of the late Edward and Lillis McCollum Capley. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Norma Capley Rutherford and a son-in-law, Coy Cunningham.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Bean Capley; daughters, Debbie Cunningham of Gladeville, Tennessee, Rhonda (Bruce) Baron of Panama City Beach, Florida, Barbara Hague of Lebanon, Tennessee; a stepson, Alan L. Beasley of Old Hickory, Tennessee; niece, Julie Bills of Lewisburg, Tennessee; five grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends.
Mr. Capley was a proud United States Air Force veteran and worked as a hospital Facilities Engineer and in plumbing sales. He was an amateur radio operator for over 70 years and participated in many radio events under the call sign K4ING. He mentored many young amateur radio operators and was always willing to share his technical knowledge or a piece of friendly advice.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Woodfin Funeral Chapels and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
