Forrest Middle School teachers took on the task of orchestrating approval, arranging bus drivers, getting permission slips, deciding lunch options, setting a time frame, constructing student groups, as well as notifying the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga that 105 students and nine teachers would be arriving for an exciting field trip on Dec. 18.
There were several students who had never seen a mountain before and the look of excitement and amazement on their faces when they saw Lookout Mountain was definitely worth all the effort of this trip. While touring the aquarium, students stated their favorite two exhibits were the Penguin Exhibit and the Butterfly Garden. Everyone also enjoyed the touch tank with the sting rays. Several found the escalators entertaining.
After spending several hours at the Tennessee Aquarium, they stopped for food after leaving the Aquarium. All students and teachers had a great time and arrived safely in Chapel Hill.
