Felix Jay Liles, 101, of Lewisburg, Tenn., died Friday, July 5, 2024, at NHC Oakwood.
He was born July 5, 1923 in Delina, Tenn., to the late Dallas “D.E.” and Lennie McGaugh Liles. He retired after 39 years at Heil-Quaker and was a member of the Church Street Church of Christ. Mr. Liles served his country during WWII in the US Army. He was a hard worker and avid gardener, who loved to give away much of his produce, and was an avid Braves, Titans, and UT fan. He also enjoyed refinishing furniture and collecting coins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, “Christine” Davis Liles; daughters, Sherilyn Liles and Jenny Liles Fuqua; sisters, Margaret Liles Bigham, Pat Liles Motes, and twin sister, Mary Fay Liles; brothers, James W. Liles, Jarratt H. Liles, Douglas Liles, and Spain Liles.
He is survived by one daughter, Christie Liles (David) Miller of Belfast; one son, Jon (Kim) Liles of the Yell community; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family was held in the chapel of London Funeral Home, 324 West Church Street, Lewisburg, Tenn., Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial following in Lone Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
