Structure fire on Monday morning, Sept. 25, units responded to 2396 Barnes Hollow Road for a reported structure fire. Units from Five Points, Cornersville, Chapel Hill, Farmington, Lewisburg, and aid from Lincoln County all responded due to the home’s size and structure. At the time of the fire, the homeowner’s daughter was at home asleep up stairs with her four year old daughter when she was woken by smoke detectors. The daughter went downstairs and opened a bedroom located in the center of the house to find the room fully engulfed in flames. It is believed that a cell phone charger was the cause of the fire. All occupants were able to get out of the home but the home was a total loss. Red Cross was called in to help with the family and they provided a meal for the fire fighters. The fire was difficult to extinguish due to the age of the house and due to the multiple additions that had been added to the structure.
