Evelyn Joyce Higgins Oliphant, 87, of Lewisburg, Tenn., died Monday, Sept. 23, 2024, at her residence.
Evelyn was born Feb. 1, 1937, in Wales, Tenn., to the late Logan and Ella Mae Arnold Higgins. She graduated with the class of 1955 from Cornersville High School and worked as a Payroll/Insurance Clerk at Marshall Manufacturing for 30 years. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling with her friends. She enjoyed crocheting and was an excellent seamstress.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Oliphant, six brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her son, Tim Oliphant of Lewisburg; sister, Juanita Hance of Lewisburg; nieces, Linda (Bob) Lashwood and Donna Lee; great nephews, Brian and Chris Lashwood, numerous nieces and nephews, and her special dog, Abby.
Visitation with the family was held at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 990 Cornersville Road, Lewisburg, Tennessee, on Friday, Sept. 27, 2024, from 4 until 8 p.m.
The funeral service was conducted on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and burial followed in Lone Oak Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to London Funeral Home to go toward the funeral expenses.
