Elk’s Hoop Shoot
On November 4, the Lewisburg Elk’s Lodge #1990 held their annual Elk’s Hoop Shoot at the Lewisburg Recreation Center. The local members are among two million of over 2,250 lodges throughout the United States and District of Columbia that sponsor the Elk’s Hoop Shoot for girls and boys, ages 8 to 13. This event is free of charge.
The winners are as follows:
8-9 year old girls: 1st place Abigail Blocker; 2nd place Ella Brocchini
10-11 year old girls: 1st place McKenzie Stephens; 2nd place Mary Ellen Scott
12-13 year old girls: 1st place Kacie Reed; 2nd place Alexis Price
8-9 year old boys: 1st place Connor Meeks; 2nd place Harrison Warf
10-11 year old boys: 1st place Henry Hearnsberger; 2nd place Jacob Wood
12-13 year old boys: 1st place Lucas Harber; 2nd place J. T. Williams
The 1st place winners will be participating in the Elk’s Hoop Shoot District Tournament on December 9 which will be held at the Lewisburg Recreation Center. There will be shooters from Columbia, Pulaski, Fayetteville, Lawrenceburg, Madison, Gallatin, Nashville, and Lewisburg. The winners of this shoot will be going to the State Shoot Off in February.
Thanks to the Elk’s members and volunteers for their help and a special thanks to the Lewisburg Recreation Center for the use of the facility. Lunch will be provided at the Lewisburg Elk’s Lodge at 10:00 a.m. on December 9, before the Hoop Shoot, which will start at 1:00 p.m.
