Early Voting Update

Early voting started on Oct. 16 and will continue through Oct. 31 in Lewisburg.
Andrew Robertson, Administrator of Elections for Marshall County Election Commission reported that as of the close of the polls on Monday, Oct. 28, Marshall County voters had cast 9,061 votes, including Chapel Hill.
The official ballot contains one item specific to the residents of Chapel Hill, a Sales Tax Referendum: Shall Ordinance No. 2024-001, which increases the Town’s sales tax from 2.25% to 2.75%, except where the sales tax is limited or modified by statute be approved?
Residents of Chapel Hill can select for or against the o.50% increase in sales tax during early voting or on Election Day.
There are additional items for Cornersville residents on the ballot.
On the ballot for Mayor for the Town of Cornersville, Johnathan “John” Luna, the incumbent, is facing opponent, Theodore “Theo” Cristan, II.
There are two votes on the ballot in Cornersville. Two people have put their names in for those two seats: Janice Kerber is seeking reelection and Taylor L. Pickett is a new candidate in the race.
