Charles Edwin King, 79, passed away peacefully on Oct. 17, 2024. He was born on July 23, 1945, to his biological parents Claude and Edwinna Fowler Cothren. His mother unfortunately passed away while Charles was young. Charles was adopted by Mose and Sadie King, who lovingly raised him and instilled in him the values of hard work, kindness, and a positive outlook on life.
Throughout his life, Charles remained faithful and devoted to the Lord, finding solace and strength in his faith. A diligent and responsible man, Charles was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to his job. After many years of farming, Charles decided to sell his farm on Spring Place Road and relocate to Lewisburg upon securing a job at ICP, where he dedicated 20 years of his life before retiring.
An avid sports fan, Charles had a particular love for football and baseball, with a special place in his heart for the Atlanta Braves. In his free time, he enjoyed the serenity of fishing, finding joy and relaxation by the water.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Sadie King. He is survived by his daughter, Tina King Trevino of Manchester; two sons, Charles King, Jr. and Darrell King of Arizona; stepsister, Barbara Murphy of Lewisburg; numerous cousins; longtime friend, Sandra Williams and caregiver, Jennifer Dodson.
Charles’ private graveside service was at Lone Oak Cemetery.
Charles will be remembered for his unwavering positivity, kind-hearted nature, and his ability to find joy in the simple things in life. The legacy of Charles King lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his spirit will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the love and light he brought to the world.
