Maggie Browning has played golf all her life.
Even going back to when she was just a small kid, she had a set of plastic clubs and immediately developed a love for the game.
That life-long love for golf eventually led her to signing her letter of intent to continue her career at the collegiate level with Georgetown College, in Georgetown, Ky.
“I was kind of looking for a smaller school like a private NAIA. I was looking around on websites. I emailed them and reached out to them,” she said.
It’s been a family affair for Browning, who credited her father with helping coach her throughout her career playing so far.
“I think playing with my family. My dad has always coached me through everything. My sister plays golf. I think just making friends and the friendships you make through golf is what I love most about it,” she said.
“I had plastic clubs and everything.I kind of grew up around it. My family plays golf.”
While there’s nothing set in stone for her work preparing for this summer, Browning has been just putting time on the course before her freshman season begins this fall.
“I’m just trying to practice and get ready for the college level. Just working hard and getting back in the game,” she said.
While her freshman season is still a few months away, Browning has a pretty good idea of what she plans on studying.
“I will probably major in business or marketing. I’m not sure what I want to do yet, but that’s what I’ll probably study,” she said.
Georgetown College is a NAIA school located in Georgetown, Ky. and the Tigers compete in the Mid-South Conference.
