The Bow Wow Bash took place on Saturday Sept. 23 at the Old Rink Emporium. There were several events throughout the day including pageants for dogs and humans, a 5K, live music, and more.
The Bow Wow Dash kicked things off at 8 a.m. with a 5K and a 1 Mile Fun Run. Mary Beth Neece and Pam Pierce oversaw the race Neese said, “All of this would not have been possible without the help of Caleb Primm.” Race winners were announced by City Manager Bam Haislip. Awards were given out to the male and female overall winners and in age groups ranging from 14 and under to 70+.
Center stage held the Beauty and the Bark dog pageant at 10:00 a.m. Nine dogs competed with their handlers for 60 seconds to impress the judges. The top three received trophies.
Vendors were set up across the property with home decor, a bouncy house, coffee, adoptable dogs, clothing, food, and crafts.
