The annual Bow Wow Bash is this Saturday Sept. 23 at The Old Rink Emporium. It’s a one-day event but with all the activities it offers, there will be tons of fun. The best part is admission is free. Many businesses have stepped up to sponsor the different events this year. There are many ways to enjoy the day.
Things kickoff bright and early with the Bow Wow Dash, a 5K and a 1 Mile Fun Run with an 8 a.m. start time. Late registration and packet pick up 7-7:45 a.m. Awards will be presented at 9 a.m.
There is also Beauty and the Bark, a pageant for dogs. Each dog and handler get 90 seconds to impress the judges in four categories: obedience, appearance, personality, and performance. All breeds are welcome to enter but must be up to date on vaccines. The dog pageant entry deadline is Sep. 22 and is only $10. Dogs and handlers will need to register before the day of the event. No entries will be accepted on the day of the event.
The Miss Bow Wow Bash Pageant kicks off at 12:30 p.m. with the youngest contestants. It will be hosted by Chelsea Hargrove, 2023 Miss Marshall County Tri-Star. There are seven age groups this year ranging from Tiny Miss to Miss. If anyone wants to enter, there is still time because applications will be taken until the day of the event. This pageant is open to anyone in any county.
Vendors and food trucks will be on site throughout the day. All funds raised go directly to support the Animal Rescue Assistance Team Tennessee (ARATT).
