Alfred Anthony “Tony” Bradford

Alfred Anthony “Tony” Bradford, 78, died Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at his residence in Lewisburg surrounded by his family.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Lewisburg First Baptist Church with Bro. Joe Dugger officiating.  Burial followed in Lone Oak Cemetery. The family visited with friends Friday, March 28, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the services at First Baptist Church.

He was born on April 7, 1946, in Shelbyville, Tenn. to the late Leonard Aubrey Bradford, Sr. and the late Catherine Claudia Church Bradford. He retired in November of 2017 from the City of Lewisburg Water and Wastewater Department after 50 years of service to the city. On March 23, 1984, he married Debra Campbell and after retirement they enjoyed riding the roads on daily trips seeing the countryside and visiting with family and friends along the way. He also was known to keep an immaculate yard, enjoyed classic vehicles and Harley Davidson motorcycles which he owned several over the years. Tony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a member of the 1964 Marshall County Senior High School Class, longtime member of Lewisburg First Baptist Church and a part of the 55 Plus Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Debra Campbell Bradford of Lewisburg; eight children, Joan Bradford McElroy of Winchester, Shane Bradford of Columbia, Nicholas (Ashleigh) Bradford of Lewisburg, Kim Bates (Jimmy) Pruitt of Clifton, Anita Jackson (Randy) Perryman of Chapel Hill, Michelle Jackson (Rusty) Shearer of Smyrna, Crystal Jackson (Rob) Zimmerman of Nolensville, and Tony (Eva) Jackson of Franklin; sister, Pearl Howard of Lewisburg; brother-in-law and lifelong friend, Randy (Hazel) Carter of Belfast; sister-in-law, Linda (Sonny) Robinson of Columbia; 20 grandchildren; 26 great- grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Corey Marshall; two brothers, L.A. Bradford, Jr. and James Bradford; three sisters, Esther Biggs, Leona Adair and Frances Spencer.

Active pallbearers were Blayne Bradford, Anthony Clanton, Michael Dennis, Tony Jackson, Justin Campbell, Michael Campbell, and Steven Leathers.  Honorary pallbearers were past and present employees of Lewisburg Water and Wastewater Department.
